About Hobby Huyss

Cards • Games • Community. Hobby Huyss is a trading-card and board-game shop in Vredekloof, Brackenfell — started by two friends who spent years on the other side of the counter and finally decided to build the shop they always wanted to walk into.

On the shelves (and in the online catalogue) you’ll find Pokémon, One Piece, Dragon Ball, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic: The Gathering, Star Wars: Unlimited and more — sealed product, singles and graded cards — alongside a growing wall of board games, puzzles and tabletop miniatures. Because we order directly from our distributor, our online range goes far beyond what any shop floor could hold: if it’s listed, we can get it, usually within 3–10 business days.

Meet the founders

Tegwen

Co-founder • anime fan • Player • baker

Anime fan, player, Crocheter, baker — Tegwen is the reason the shop feels like a living room and not a warehouse. If the display case is arranged just right, that was her; if there’s something delicious at an event, that was definitely her.

From Crochet to painting miniatures to working on a One Piece deck, Tegwen brings a hands-on love of creative and collectible hobbies.

More than a shop

The long-term plan has always been community first: casual play nights, tournaments and trade evenings are coming once the doors have been open a while. In the meantime, come say hi, browse the shelves, get advice on grading your cards, or bring in that collection gathering dust — we buy cards, sealed product and board games.
